    The following internships are for RJUHSD Computer Science Pathway Students.  Please read the following important information before applying:

     

    • The RJUHSD internship program is a class.  Elective credit is provided and will show on the student’s transcript.

    • All applicants must have completed a minimum of two years in a Computer Science Pathway.
    • Please note that one or more of these listings may be marketed to other pathways.  For example, a business partner may be asking that we allow computer science and/or business pathway students to apply.
    • All internships are for the entire Spring 2022 term.
    • Students must be age 16 and/or over. This program is open to juniors and seniors

     

    Please NOTE:  This is a digital internship opportunity.  Meeting with employer will be held via zoom.  

    #1. AMW Design is looking for capable and motivated interns to assist with conceptualizing, developing, and maintaining computer applications.  Focus is toward building online and education applications.

    Sample Tasks:

    • Use HTML and CSS to create template web pages
    • Use graphic design tools to create sprite and other visual assets
    • Integrated audio/visual assets into template pages
    • Develop and refine logical structure of application
    • Test and troubleshoot prototype applications

    Required Skills:

    • Working knowledge of HTML (HyperText Markup Language)
    • Working knowledge of CSS (cascading Style Sheets)

    Desired Skills:

    • Familiarity with Java Scripts
    • Familiarity with raster and vector image editing

    Business Solutions Internship      

    DEFINITION

    To assist in & observe professional level work in the analysis, design, testing, installation and maintenance of business applications systems and databases. 

    EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES – Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Assist & observe in analytical and technical work through enterprise systems that support assigned City business applications. 

    Assist & observe business analysis, evaluation of business processes, and identifying requirements. 

    Assist & observe work on trouble calls and tickets corresponding with customers and vendors as needed to understand and resolve concerns. 

    Assist & observe installation and configuration duties and related data migration, conversion, and maintenance and extraction work. 

    Assist in and observe project management methodologies including the development of project plans and detailed project objectives, development and guidance of project timelines, assessment and management of risks, issue management, development and management of project budgets. 

    Observe implementation of system software, including conversion of data to new systems; work with application support personnel to resolve system problems. 

    Observe Business Systems Analysts assisting departments in defining requirements for proposed business applications, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business applications and user needs, and translating business objectives into application requirements. 

    Assist & observe in applying software updates to servers and schedule periodic server cycling. 

    Review and update documentation for select applications. 

    Assist & observe in training users regarding computer equipment and operating procedures. 

    Answer questions and provide information to the customers, via telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence related to the technical support program/operations; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints. 

    Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

    BUSINESS SOLUTIONS INTERNSHIP: Small Project

    System inventory and documentation are ongoing efforts in the Information Technology Field. The Business Solutions team currently has two separate system inventories that are out of sync.

    Along with the essential duties listed, the intern will also be responsible for reviewing our current system inventories and proposing a solution to correct the discrepancies.  Upon approval of the proposed solution, the intern will execute the solution and provide the result to the IT Program Manager for review.

     

    *This position will include students being transported to various site’s in a Roseville City vehicle.

    8 hours per week/unpaid.

    Position: Project Intern

    Summary of Functions

    A general description is provided, but the shadowing experience will be tailored to the current career objectives of the chosen student, as demonstrated in the responses to questions that follow. The Project Intern’s overall function is to provide assistance to the Project Engineer. This includes, but is not limited to: field engineering, QC, submittals, bidding, estimating, costing, purchasing materials and invoicing. The Project Intern will shadow the Project Engineer consulting/coordinating QC procedures and staffing of QC Specialists with the Project Manager.

    • This internship is for students currently enrolled in Engineering, Drafting, Physics and Calculus and want to experience an engineering and construction work environment.

    Assignment

    • The Internship will be assigned to the Engineering Department.  However, since the Engineering Dept supports all other functions of Intech Mechanical, the Intern may be temporarily assigned to other groups within the company to perform a variety of technical and general support staff duties for assigned department or division.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Deburr, polish, grind, sand and clean parts

    Inspect machined parts utilizing basic inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges

    Assist machine shop team with operating CNC Mills (3 axis vertical mills with Fanuc controls), CNC router, water jet and CNC lathe to produce production runs of machined parts.

    Load and unload parts on both vices and fixtures

    Perform machining tasks utilizing Bridgeport Mill, Lathe, as well as other machine shop support equipment (i.e. grinder, belt sander, drill press, etc.)

    Service and maintain CNC mills, CNC lathe, CNC router, water jet and other shop equipment

    Maintain work area

    Follow procedures, product handling methods and records completion
