Turn Cameras on to Learn!!
The camera function during online learning should be employed to facilitate learning and monitor student progress. The camera function can also serve as a security measure and is required for attendance verification. Here are specific guidelines and considerations for camera expectations:
Students must have their camera turned on when entering the classroom. Once teacher has validated each student, the camera can be turned off if it is not required as part of the learning process.
Examples of classroom activities that could require a camera on for the learning process include but are not limited to:
- Recitation/choral response
- One to one checks for understanding
- Class presentations
- To visually connect with students and support building relationships
- To enhance testing/assessment security
If your district-issued chromebook has an issue with the functionality of the camera, please immediately contact our Library Technician Ms. Claudia Hernandez at email@example.com.
If families have concerns about this policy or expectations, they should communicate with administration.
