- Congratulations to Boys State Nominees: Brayden Bolden, Jonah Channel, Daniel Kim, Brock Sherrod, and Westin Wade! They move on to an interview in February, where one student will be named as our West Park Delegate! Our delegate will experience an all-expenses paid week-long conference at Sac State this summer, learning about leadership, teamwork and some United States history and government lessons with other like-minded student leaders.

- Roseville Police Explorers - The Roseville Police Department’s Explorer Program is a unique and challenging opportunity allowing young men and women (ages 14-20) to be an integral part of the Department’s operations while also gaining experience of what a career in law enforcement entails. There is no deadline to apply. This is offered to students year-round. Announcements:
- Welcome back, Panthers!! We hope you had a long, enjoyable break and are ready to begin a fresh, new semester! Here are a few things to note as you return on Wednesday:
- Welcome Back Bell Schedule
- School starts at 8:30am - we do not have late-start until the following week.
- When arriving, please go directly to your Advisory class where you will enjoy some fun activities and get an overview of the school rules at your Class Assembly.
- Please bring your devices fully charged and ready to go.
- This will be a one-lunch day.
- Remember, we operate on a what is called a "4x4 (four-by-four) Schedule" which means that a full year's course is taken in just one semester. You will have a brand new class schedule with all new classes starting Wednesday, so check Homelink (you will have time in your Advisory class too). This also means that your lunch may shift since lunches are based on where your 3rd period classes are held.
- Be prepare for inclement (poor) weather. The weather prediction is changing regularly, so be prepared for rain just in case. Arrive early and dress accordingly (please leave your blankets at home - this is not appropriate for school).
- You will check out textbooks with your new classes later this and next week, so no need to stop by the Library/Research Lab.
- If you are experiencing issues with your laptops, please arrive by 8am in the Library/Research Lab for assistance so you do not miss your activities taking place with your Advisory class.

Game Design 2 (Computer Graphics) is built around creating art assets for Video Games. This course begins with some fundamental skill building and the creation of 2D art assets primarily in Aseprite (pixel art software) and Adobe illustrator. These art assets are then animated in both Aseprite and the Unity3D game engine (free, professional grade game engine). The Course then continues to creating and animating 3D art assets using Blender (free 3D modeling and animation software). Contact your counselor if you're interested!

- Fall Registration for Incoming 9th Graders - it's time for parents/guardians to complete the online registration for next year's Freshmen for the 2023-24 school year!
- Virtual Calming Room - stop by anytime to the district's virtual Calming Room where you can listen to calming sounds, partake in some past-time activities, and much more.

- Research Lab (Library) Opens Monday! Stop by Monday to check out the Research Lab, located in The Grove. We offer library book circulation, Chromebook repair and loaners, and textbook circulation. The Makerspace will be in full-force after we return from Winter Break!!! Of course, there is a lot of work to do with setting up supplies, etc.; however, there will be some preview opportunities before we say good-bye to 2022. Stay tuned!
- STEM Shout-Out - A huge shout-out to the WP STEM Club for assisting with the district's first STEM Family Night!
- Canned Food Drive - WPHS is partnering with the Placer County Food Bank and holding a canned food drive from 10/31-11/18. Second period teachers will be the collectors of canned food items. Student Government will come around to every 2nd period at the beginning of class to collect canned food items. At the end of each week, one class will be declared a winner, and will receive donuts for that week. There will also be a grand prize winner of the entire competition who will receive a pizza party.

- One-Acts - Student-directed one-acts is preparing for auditions for the Feb performance. Auditions are 11/14 and 11/15 3:30-5:30pm in the Grove (must attend both dates). Email kdelapp@rjuhsd.us for more details.
