The College & Career Center is devoted to helping OHS students on their journey to college and onward to future careers. Open every school day from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, the College & Career Center is well-stocked with information on numerous items and events, including PSAT, SAT, and ACT exams, scholarships, financial aid, NCAA, and other college and career-oriented information.

Students will need to log into their Naviance Accounts
to find out more about these scholarships and to apply.  
The scholarships are all listed under the "colleges" tab,
scroll down to the "scholarship list" and there you will
see all scholarships available to our Oakmont students.

Speakers

The College & Career Center invites numerous guest speakers to the Oakmont campus throughout the year, including:

  • Representatives from University of California campuses.
  • Representatives from California State University campuses.
  • Representatives from community colleges.
  • Representatives from private colleges and universities from across the nation.
  • Representatives from vocational and technical schools such as FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), UTI, Commercial Artists, etc.
  • Representatives from all branches of the United States Armed Forces.

Letter of Recommendation
 
Students in need of a letter of recommendation should ask their staff members well in advance.  Students should also bring in their Brag Sheet (a sample is below). After the staff member has submitted the letter, please write a thank you note to that person.
